Yoganjali Yoga Centre Group Class Levels
Yoga Group Class Levels I/II
are for beginning and continuing Yoga students to present the basic principles of practice. The emphasis is primarily on learning Introductory Yoga practice through the use of primary Yoga āsana with appropriate Yoga breathing patterns. Plus introducing simple seated Yoga practices for breath and attention.
Yoga Group Class Levels II/III
are for continuing Yoga students familiar with the basic principles of level I/II. The emphasis is still on primary Yoga āsana but the practice is developed through work with introducing intermediate āsana.
Plus adding depth to the primary āsana through subtler Yoga techniques. Developing simple Yoga meditational techniques for breath and attention. Exploring Yoga meditational techniques through seated Yoga breathing practices for refining breath and attention.
Yoga Group Class Levels III/IV
are held fortnightly as a supplementary add-on class to existing class commitments for any students from any Yoga class and any Yoga background interested in deepening their Yoga practice.
However as the class has evolved it has become apparent that all students in the group have also participated, or are participating in cYs Introductory and Foundation Yoga Study and Practice Workshops. The input from these Yoga Workshops with its insight into the very specific priorities around spine, breath and attention set a primary focus for the direction and development behind the class curriculum.
This means that the primary and intermediate Yoga class work can be developed and refined with advanced practice teachings within existing Yoga postures and Yoga breathing techniques. The āsana practice is also developed with specific prāṇāyāma practices and integrating meditational techniques for dhyānam. Plus time is taken to explore the relationship of our personal practice to Yoga’s deeper teachings on the view through the Yoga Sūtra and the importance of awareness within our day to day interactions.
