Opening Prayers or Dhyānam Ślokam

śuklāmbaradharaṃ viṣṇuṃ
 śaśivarnaṃ caturbhujam I
prasanna vadanaṃ dhyāyet
 sarva vighnopa śāntaye ‖

gurubhyastad gurubhyaśca
 namo vākamadhīmahe I
vṛṇīmahe ca tad rādyau
 dampatī jagatāṃ pati ‖

śrī kṛṣṇavāgīśa yatīśvarābhyām saṃprāpta cakrāṅkaṇa bhyāṣyasāram |
śrī nūtnaraṅgendra yatau samarpitsvam śrī kṛṣṇamāryaṃ guruvaryamīḍe |
virodhe kārtike māse śatatārā kṛtodayam yogācāryaṃ kṛṣṇamāryaṃ guruvaryamahaṃ bhaje ‖

śrī gurubhyo namaḥ ‖

saṃyañjyāya kalāpena mahatā bhāratena ca |
upabṛmhita vedāya namo vyāsāya viṣṇave ‖

vyāsaṃ vasiṣṭa naptāraṃ śakteḥ pautramakalmaṣam |
parāśarātmajaṃ vande śukatātaṃ taponidhim ‖

acatur vadano brahmā dvibāhurabaro hariḥ |
aphāla locanaḥ śaṃbhuḥ bhagavān bādarāyaṇaḥ ‖

abhraśyāmaḥ piṅgajaṭā baddhaḥ prāṃśurdaṇḍī kṛṣṇa mṛgatvak paridhānaḥ |
sarvān lokān pāvayamānaḥ pārāśaryaḥ paramaḥ svarūpaṃ vivṛnotu ‖

kṛṣṇaṃ kamalapatrākṣaṃ puṇyaḥ śravaṇa kīrtanam |
vāsudevaṃ jagad yoniṃ naumi nārāyaṇaṃ harim ‖

the more sensitive, the more alert, the more observant, the greater the suffering,
the anxiety, the extraordinary sense of insoluble problems."
