The Introductory Yoga Study Programme in Bristol

Introductory Āsana Prāṇāyāma Mudrā & Dhyāna Workshops on the viniyoga of Yoga

Initiated in 1996 the IYS Programme is focused 
on personal development and introducing the Yoga student or teacher to the core 
teachings and practices in the viniyoga of Yoga approach and how they inspire and guide our personal Yoga practice
 and study, as well as our Yoga teaching. It is an opportunity for a Yoga student or teacher from any Yoga background or style 
to be introduced to a weekend of Yoga practice and study. Complete in itself it offers a sound foundation in the viniyoga of Yoga, as well as a base which can be continued and developed 
through the Yoga Study Foundation Workshops.

Introductory Haṭha Energies Theory & Practice Study Workshops - The Place and Purpose of Prāṇa Agni Nādī & Cakra

Initiated for 2011 the IHS Programme introduces the Yoga student or teacher to a weekend on the primary principles and teachings from the major Haṭha Yoga texts and how they inspire and guide our personal Yoga practice
 and study, as well as our Yoga teaching. It is complete in itself and offers a sound overview of the core principles of Haṭha Yoga. These fundamental aspects can also be  further developed through the four Foundation Haṭha Study weekend workshops. It is an opportunity for a Yoga student or teacher from any Yoga background or style to experience an in-depth introduction to the concepts and practices which underpin Haṭha Yoga.

Introductory Mantra and Yoga Chanting Theory & Practice Workshops – The Art of Mantra and Yoga Chanting

Initiated in 1999 the Introductory Mantra and Yoga Chanting Workshop offers a two day intensive  of Mantra and Yoga Chanting practice and study where 
the basic principles and practices of learning and teaching Chanting 
are explored and experienced. The core principles in Sound, Mantra and Yoga Chanting are introduced as 
well as providing training options for teachers who wish to teach this in group classes. They are offered for Yoga 
teachers, trainee teachers and interested students who 
wish to study for personal development and/or for professional teaching skills. They are open to all Yoga students and teachers interested in experiencing the meditative power and learning support of the spiritual and psychological teachings from India.

The Foundation Yoga Study Programme in Bristol

Foundation Āsana Prāṇāyāma Mudrā & Dhyāna Workshops on the viniyoga of Yoga

Initiated in 1990 the FYS Programme is intended for those 
Yoga students or teachers who, having completed 
an Introductory Yoga Study Course, wish to explore further the teachings in 
the viniyoga of Yoga approach and how they inspire and guide our personal Yoga practice
 and study, as well as our Yoga Teaching. Even though the Yoga teachings and techniques developed 
in the Foundation Course can enhance any Yoga Teachers professional skills 
there is no requirement to teach or to intend to teach Yoga. 
This is not the role of the Foundation course, although it is a pre-requisite for those interested in training professionally.

4. The cYs Practitioner & Postgraduate Training Programme

Practitioner and Postgraduate Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapy Training Programmes

The Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapy Practitioner Programme in Bristol

Initiated in 1985 the YTTP offers 
three year Professional Yoga Teaching and Therapy Training through 500 contact hours over three years 
of non-residential weekend workshops. 

It offers an in-depth teacher and therapy training in Yoga Practice, Yoga Teaching, 
Yoga Psychology and Yoga Therapy. They are available for those Yoga students who wish to develop the skills to teach, using this approach to Yoga. The Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapy Programme offers an in-depth teacher training in Yoga Practice, Teaching, Psychology and Therapy. The training will include both working with small groups and a special emphasis on one to one teaching and therapy for development, wellbeing or health recovery.

The Further Studies Postgraduate Practitioner Programme in Bristol

Initiated in 1990 the FSP offers an approved and accredited two year Yoga Training Course for cYs 
Approved Yoga Teachers. The focus of the Bristol based two year Further Studies Postgraduate Training Programme will be to offer an approved and accredited Yoga Postgraduate Practitioner Training Course for cYs Approved Yoga Teachers who wish to add Postgraduate Professional skills to their existing Yoga Teaching qualification.

The Yoga Continuing Professional Development Programme in Bristol

Initiated in 1989 the CPD programme presents a range of 
IST Yoga weekend workshops on Yoga topics selected to support 
Yoga teachers, trainee teachers and interested students Yoga skills. 

Their focus is to either to enhance existing skills or to help explore 
new areas of Yoga expertise. They offer opportunities for BWY Accredited Yoga Teachers to participate in Continuing Professional Development Yoga Programmes through nationally approved In-Service Yoga Training seminars

- Primary Study and Practice Support choices cover the Application (viniyoga) of all facets of Yoga Practice;
the Principles of Haṭha Energetics and the Psychology of the Yoga Sūtra.

- Further Study and Practice Support choices include Advanced Āsana; Advanced Prāṇāyāma;
Mantra & Yoga Chanting; the Philosophy of the Bhagavad Gītā and Āyurveda Therapeutics.

- Professional Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapy Training choices include 3 year Practitioner Programmes,
2 year Postgraduate Programmes and Continuing Professional Development Workshops.
