The Continuing Professional Development Programme
The Continuing Professional Development Programme presents a range of further training workshops on Yoga topics selected to support Yoga Teachers professional skills. Their focus is to either to enhance existing skills or to help explore new areas of Yoga expertise.
From 2008 onwards the CPD Programme will introduce a 'Purely Yoga' series of In-Service Training seminars with Paul Harvey focusing on bringing us back to reconsider and deepen our Yoga roots through the applcation of postures, breathing, meditation and Yoga psychology to daily life situations and realities.
They will be an exploration of the viniyoga of teaching through the application of Yoga within specific life stages or situations. The topics include developing or refining teaching skills for:
- Teaching how to Advance Asana in Group Yoga Classes - Freeing the Body
- Teaching Pranayama within Asana in Group Yoga Classes - Freeing the Breath
- Teaching Mantra and Chanting in Group Yoga Classes - Freeing the Voice
- Teaching Sutra and Psychology in Group Yoga Classes - Freeing the Mind
- Yoga in Pregnancy - Within the womb another life
- Yoga for Children - First steps, first actions
- Yoga and the Workplace - Working stresses, living strains
- Yoga within Sport - Sporting actions, physical reactions
- Yoga for the Elder - Later life, space for growth
These themes will provide a focus for an exploration of strategies to work with Yoga within settings that encompass both traditional and modern approaches to Yoga teaching and therapy.
