The aim is to reflect the fundamentals of Śrī Krishnamacharya’s teaching, namely, transmission occurs through the direct experience of the teacher with the students personal practice and study Sādhana.
Online Individualised eLearning within a Personal Dialogue
Over the past decade, with the advent of online video technologies, I have found myself increasingly involved in virtual teaching situations with Yoga students and Yoga teachers. Here I have offered 121 video meetings to facilitate a personalised approach and in-depth transmission between teacher and student.
Online Live Learning eStudy Options include:
Online Personal Practice eLesson Sessions
Exploring your ‘on the mat/cushion’ personal practice within areas such as Āsana, Mudrā, and especially Prāṇāyāma, Dhyānam and Chanting purely through a virtual medium are dependent on circumstances, needs and possibilities around the student and the virtual medium. Here I am open to discussing tuition with interested students but would need to look at each situation and the options available.
Online Personal Practice eLesson Review Sessions
Increasingly I have found this medium helpful as a means to offer follow up practice support reviews for 121 students as an adjunct between live meetings, especially where there where long distances involved in terms of direct access. This point of contact offered opportunities to discuss questions, or to clarify interpretations, or observe how the students practice mirrored the teachers intention.
Online Fees for 121 eLesson Sessions
The Fee for Individual Sessions will be £50 per hour or pro rata if more or less than an hour, thus £42 for 50′; £50 for 60′; £63 for 75′ and £75 for 90′ sessions. In situations involving overseas transfers and/or currency exchanges any extra charges would need to be added to allow for the extra costs involved.
Online Free Initial eMeeting to discuss your needs
A free preliminary half hour consultation is available online with Paul to chat around options or discuss your needs and requirements regarding 121 sessions. Online Modular Yoga & Associated Texts eStudy Programme Options
Over time my online support work with Yoga practice or supervision has evolved following requests from students for online ongoing textual study, exploring specific topics or themes such as Sūtra Psychology, Haṭha Energetics, Gītā Scripture, Upaniṣat Mysticism, Sāṃkhya Philosophy and Āyurveda Lifestyle.
After much reflection as to the place of this medium as a means of Paramparā I chose to accept to work online individually with students in this area. With the support of the extensive study workbooks from my textual study group courses, I feel this has become a valid means of working online 121 to facilitate access to studying texts accumulated from my decades long apprenticeship with TKV Desikachar.
Current Online Modular Textual eStudy Programmes on offer are:
So after four years of exploring this means of transmission with students, supported by extensive textual workbooks as a framework, I feel comfortable in offering this as a valid structured modularised textual teaching option within the wider Yoga community.
Online Modular Yoga Practice Techniques & Theory eStudy Programme Options
Further modular options being added to the topics for individual online learning include the Study of certain aspects of Yoga Practice Techniques and Yoga Practice Theory outlined on the Personal Practice Study Overview webpage. Already added are online learning options for Module One through Module Five Courses on the Art of viniyoga of Āsana and Module One Courses on the Art of viniyoga of Sounding and Chanting.
Current Online Modular Practice Techniques and Practice Theory Study Programmes on offer are:
Online Small Group eStudy Sessions
Another future area for development is the notion of online learning groups. As it stands, I am clear that I have no wish to engage in anonymous mediums such as posting online videos or podcasts, or remote viewing subscription processes, or online webinars or webcasts, where there is no live interaction or two way dialogue. Personally I feel that remote learning live or catch-up Webinars or Webcasts, or learning at leisure facilities that increasingly abound today are not comparable to two-way live learning, even if it is online.
Meanwhile I am happy to look at options where small groups of students can come together online to study within a specific area or topic focus with one caveat. This is that we must all be able see each online and interact face to face, not just voice to voice, as if a small group studying in a live situation.
Regarding this option I am exploring whether the video technology around at this point in time can support such a request rather than the more usual video conferencing facilities currently available.
This page will be updated around ongoing small group online interactive study structures as appropriate options become available. Meanwhile a free online meeting is available to chat around existing options.
